Bottles With The X Factor Go Up For Sale

Bottles from Fountain Studios signed by X Factor judges which are now up for auction

Autographed Bottles For Auction

A unique collection of wine bottles signed by a glittering array of stars from TV and music has gone on sale after being uncovered in the building which housed the world-famous Fountain Studios.

Simon Cowell and other X Factor judges, Ant & Dec, Tony Bennett, Pink and Sir Bruce Forsyth are among the stars who have autographed the bottles being sold by Charterfields.

Fountain Studios closed in December 2016 and was the home to many iconic TV shows including in recent years the X Factor, The Voice, All Star Mr & Mrs and The Last Leg. It was traditional to ask stars to sign a bottle to mark their visit.

There is one bottle with four signatures where only one, footballer Ashley Cole, then married to X Factor judge Cheryl, has been identified.

Mystery Autographs Need Identification

Ian Maycock, Director at Charterfields, is leading the search to reveal the other autographs. He said: “We literally found this great collection of bottles in a cupboard as we cleared the studios after the auction to dispose of the TV and studio equipment. The bottles being auctioned feature just some of the famous stars who visited and worked at the studios.

“There is one bottle which is proving difficult to pinpoint who signed it. Apart from Ashley Cole the others could be celebrity guests, rather than presenters, visiting a show like X Factor. If anyone can help, please get in touch!”

The auction, which began on 17 January, ends at 10.00am on Friday 9 February 2018.  Buyers can bid for individual bottles. For further information see the Fountain Studios online bottle auction.
