New Buxton Office Follows Year of Expansion

New Buxton Office Follows Year of Expansion – Charterfields

Valuers and auctioneers Charterfields are strengthening their presence in Derbyshire with the launch of a new office in Buxton.

The move follows its success in increasing turnover by 15% during 2017 to break through the £2m barrier, as a result of strong international demand for its services.

Charterfields Expansion

Charterfields carries out valuations for corporate clients worldwide and disposes of property and business assets. During the past 12 months, it has held its biggest ever auction to sell the contents of the world-famous Fountain Studios in Wembley, the home of some of the UK’s most popular TV shows including the X Factor, and has sold over £1m worth of business assets and over £2m worth of property.

Charterfields have also carried out valuations of automotive plants in South America, Europe and Russia on behalf of four major global car manufacturers, and a portfolio of 800-plus retail and office locations in the UK, Europe and the US on behalf of a leading fashion retailer. Meanwhile, it increased its client base in the aviation sector and now covers valuations on behalf of most of the major UK airports.

Founded 25 years ago in Sheffield, Charterfields has retained its presence in Yorkshire but last year moved its headquarters to Manchester where it has doubled its office space. The company, which also has an office in London, employs 16 staff. The Buxton office will service both local and international clients.

Neil Warburton, Director, who leads the company’s operations in Yorkshire and the Midlands, said: “The Buxton office is our first in the Midlands and comes on the back of a strong year for the company. Buoyant demand for commercial property and plant is encouraging landlords and lenders to dispose of underperforming assets. At the same time we are seeing a big increase in requests for valuations, driven partly by changes in the insurance market, but also as big companies take better care of their assets and want up-to-date valuations.

“The UK remains a world leader in valuations and the Charterfields team is one of the most experienced in the industry. In 2018 we will continue to strengthen our presence in the Midlands while building our profile in the international arena.”
