Charterfields took to the Peak District in force, together with a number of clients, for a beautiful spring 2016 ramble around Grindleford.
Charterfields clients from across the business sectors, joined our staff to be led by experienced and knowledgeable guides from Peak Walking, around some of the finest hills, edges and woodland of the Peak District.
Starting off at The Maynard (themaynard.co.uk) for bacon butties, a treat to get us all set for the ramble ahead, we were taken on a stroll through Grindleford with a gradual climb to Froggatt Edge. As well as having magnificent views over the surrounding Dales from the cliff tops, we were introduced to an ancient stone circle, believed to be a burial ground.
“Charterfields clients enjoy something different”
From there, we headed down under the cliff faces of Froggatt to take an excellent, prepared lunch at The Chequers Inn (chequers-froggatt.com). Once replenished with food (and some fluid!) we returned to The Maynard via an easy level walk, through Froggatt to Grindleford, where views of nature including young lambs and bluebells were in abundance.
Neil Warburton said “this was the first of a new style of client socialising which appears to have gone very well, with many comments, from Charterfields clients, of how they enjoyed ‘something different’. We shall certainly be repeating the venture with an autumn event, possibly around October. Watch our website and Newsletter for details”.
So, it’s walking boots ready, for the autumn stroll. If you are interested in attending the next event, which is on the 7 October 2016, please drop us a line by emailing Alison Lewington
