Every year Charterfields donate our Christmas card fund to a vital charity that is helping to support people in our local community here in Manchester. In 2018 year we are giving our money to Greater Together Manchester Night Shelter who help the homeless during the winter season.
We believe it’s all part of our fiscal responsibility to help those less fortunate than ourselves. According to figures from Greater Manchester’s Combined Authority, the numbers of homeless people increased in 2018 by around 41%.
This shocking figure underlines the importance of the work carried out by essential charties who run the Night Shelters.
Manchester Night Shelter
The Manchester night shelter supports guests who would otherwise be sleeping on the streets and provides them with clean clothes, toiletries and other necessities, however, they also provide support in the form of clothing and toiletries to other charities. The Manchester Night Shelter uses local churches that have space for 12 beds and the washing and cooking facilities needed. They also use other churches to store clothing and supplies before they are distributed.
