Neil heads our corporate division and has over 40 years of experience in the valuation profession, working in most regions of the world. Julian has over 15 years of experience in asset valuations with regional and national firms of Chartered Surveyors. As a member of the Corporate Valuation Division, he specialises in the valuation of plant and equipment and has carried out assignments in a diverse range of industries throughout the world. Valuation advice has been provided for insurance, balance sheet, privatisation and/or joint venture and other financial purposes. Additionally, he has had extensive experience in asset reconciliation and fixed asset maintenance systems.

Ian joined Charterfields in July 2007 to establish an office in Manchester to support the growth and expansion of the company. Prior to Charterfields Ian was an Executive Director with SHM Smith Hodgkinson with responsibility for insolvency and asset realisations for the North of England and has over 20 years valuation and disposal experience. Ian is involved in the RICS and sits on the Machinery and Business Assets Faculty Board as well as being an APC Assessor.

Roger is a member of the RICS, qualifying in 2001, and a Registered Valuer, specialising in machinery and business assets and distressed business brokerage. Roger joined the Charterfields team in 2009 as a Director in the London office. Previously having held directorships in national firms of Chartered Surveyors as well as a City-based consultancy. Concentrating primarily upon two core business disciplines, Roger is involved with corporate recovery projects and asset-based lending appraisals, in the UK and overseas, although historically he comes from a multidisciplinary, international background, of over 25 years. Roger is a family man, whose interests include skiing, golf, clay pigeon shooting and foreign travel, particularly in Africa.

Joe has over 40 years experience in the valuation profession, dealing predominantly with insurance and financial valuations of property, plant and equipment and has developed strong links with insurance brokers and their clients on a global basis. Peter joined Charterfields Corporate Division in 2017 having spent 7 years working at Thornburn & Co. Whilst at Thornburn’s, Peter carried out plant and property valuations for financial accounting and insurance purposes; both in the United Kingdom and Europe. In his spare time, Peter’s hobbies include mountain biking, surfing, rock climbing and home renovation.

Helen McKeown joined Charterfields in 2020 to establish a Building Surveying team in the North West to support and grow the existing range of service lines to meet the natural cross-over in client demand for core building surveying services. Helen has over 16 years post qualified experience having been most recently at JLL for 8 of those years and has vast experience of building surveying within corporate real estate working on behalf of fund managers, asset managers and private investors.
Helen’s particular area of expertise is portfolio strategy in the following areas: Landlord and Tenant; pre-lease and lease exit dilapidations advice and strategy; Technical Due diligence; acquisition and disposal of prime property assets, defects pathology and diagnosis; Planned Maintenance; appraisal of assets and leases to identify opportunities for savings, compliance, asset enhancement, sinking fund and service charge forensics; Reinstatement Cost Assessments; portfolio appraisals of commercial and period property; Capital Expenditure; Projects and Contract Administration.
In her spare time Helen can be found training in the gym and dabbling in speculative property development, interspersed with regular visits to see friends and family in Northern Ireland; one trip home conveniently allowed for a quick survey of the Odyssey Arena, Belfast.

Chris became an elected member of the RICS in 2008 and is a Registered Valuer. He has more than 18 years’ experience in providing valuation and disposal advice in respect to machinery and business assets of a tangible and intangible nature across all asset classes and sectors to a range of corporate clients, Banks, Asset Based Lenders, Financial Institutions and Corporate Recovery clients both domestically and internationally but acts predominantly for corporate recovery professionals in respect to assets of a distressed nature.
In his spare time Chris enjoys spending time with his family, watching Rugby League and Rugby Union and try’s to fit in some cycling.

Chris has many years’ experience of providing specialist corporate business asset and machinery valuation and agency services across a wide range of manufacturing and service sectors. A technology graduate, he holds the RICS postgraduate diploma in plant and machinery valuation, and the postgraduate diploma in technical authorship. Chris is also a chartered member of the Textile Institute. A keen cyclist, in his spare time when at home, he enjoys the scenic roads of his native Calderdale in West Yorkshire.

He lived and worked in Africa for 3 years giving him unique insight into the country and its markets. A specialist in the industrial sector, Chris advises on property strategy, valuation and agency instructions.
