The internationally renowned film and television studios with over 90 years of film and broadcasting history is due to close at the end of 2016.
Home of the X Factor. This will be the last program to be produced at the studios prior to the redevelopment of the site.
Over its 90 years’ history, programs such as British classics, On The Buses, Upstairs Downstairs & Opportunity Knocks have been produced here. The studio saw the creation of pop sensation One Direction and has produced programs such as Britain’s Got Talent, Pop Idol and The Last Leg. The studio also hosted an episode of Friends, “The One With Ross’s Wedding”
Charterfields is proud to be associated with Fountain Studios in what will be the end of an era. Charterfields have been instructed to work closely with the studios to manage the disposal of all the contents. This will include all the quality lighting, audio and visual equipment, all modern equipment. Additionally, the catering, hospitality, scenery, office furniture and memorabilia will be sold.
The sale will take place in February 2017 and will be a sale by Online Auction.
